Educators Appreciation Night

dec1

Teachers dedicate their lives to educating the future leaders. And the local government believes that teachers deserve a night to enjoy the holiday season. To honor all public teachers in Tagum City for the work they do in developing the future leaders of our community and country, the local government led by our Honorable Mayor Allan Rellon, held an Educators Appreciation Night.

The awaited event really turned into reality. Earlier this year, rumors about it scattered already through out Dep Ed. It was proposed to happen during Teachers Day on October but it was cancelled. I didn’t expect much about the whole idea. Tsk Tsk I think it’s quite impossible to throw such event in an expensive venue with a huge population of public teachers. Not that i was looking down at our LGU’s financial sufficiency, but spending lots of money for affluence is incomprehensible.

However when I joined the Civil Service Day, with a special appearance of our Mayor, it was confirmed that the event would push through on December. But an exceptionally powerful typhoon hit portions of Visayas. I assumed the event would be cancelled again because the money will be donated for the victims of  Typhoon Yolanda just like what happened last year’s Educators Christmas party when Typhoon Pablo hit parts of Mindanao .

Then rumors (yeah rumors again ^^) spread that the Big event at Big 8 was not just a rumor! hahaha. Each of the teachers received an invitation: “An Oscar like night for teachers on the 13th of December”.

13th of December. It was a night of honoring teachers, appreciating the important work we do for the children and society. The program included live music and a band.  Guests enjoyed the delicious food and gifts. Others were enjoying the free pictorials on their own fancy. And there was a formal program & presentation of surprise guests.

dec4Although at first some of the teachers were pessimist on wearing long gowns and make ups, unbelievably on the days before the 13th, the teachers were silently preparing their outfits & accessories haha

The Power Gurlz. ‘Kyeopta’ face!

It was a long night. I can say, everybody enjoyed it. And teachers are not just jack of all trades, they are QUEEN & KING as well. Hahaha 🙂
